Overview

The supplied itinerary describes Umbwe as one of the steepest and most challenging approaches, through southern rainforest and narrow ridges to Barranco and the southern circuit. Rapid altitude gain makes acclimatisation more difficult; discuss experience, fitness and longer alternatives before choosing it.
